Review: Gateway : DMP-X20 20GB Jukebox MP3 Player

Gateway has really turned around in the past few years, driving deep into the heart of the consumer electronics space. What was once just a top PC company is now a hot electronics reseller. Time will tell whether they can continue to battle the established CE brands like Sony and Samsung for the hearts and minds of consumers worldwide.

I have owned 2 of these for 6 months. They get used heavily sometimes several hours a day and both my wife and I are very satisfied. I would rate 9 out of 10.

Warning! You cannot edit and upload playlists from WMP to the DMP-X20! Tried to contact Gateway about this and they said it would not be fixed in any future firmware releases.

Have you checked with Gateway Technical Support? I doubt they do any replacements given the product’s age now, but might have advice at least. I saw a possible replacement battery at laptops-for-less. But, of course, no idea how you open the unit to replace it!   ; )

I have had this now for almost 6months. I rather like it. For the price, can’t go wrong. There is ONLY one problem i have with it. Every now and again, it locks up. Since the power is only a soft power button. you have to wait for the battery to die before you can use it again.
