A worldwide leader in consumer electronics, Korea-based LG Electronics selected the DMN-8600 for its ability to provide the highest-quality digital video and distinctive features in a cost-effective, single-chip design.

Unlike other VCR/DVD combination products on the market, the Zenith XBR413 de-interlaces video content from either the VCR or the DVD and displays it in progressive scan 480P format. Enabled by the DMN-8600, this feature not only provides a unified audio/video connection, but also generates superior image quality – even for VCR-recorded content. The Zenith XBR413 includes one-touch dubbing from VHS tape to DVD disc for simplified VHS-DVD conversion. It also includes LSI Logic’s Direct Digital Dub™ technology, which makes it easy to transfer personal digital content from a digital camcorder to a DVD over FireWire, with a single remote.

Based on the LSI Logic DoMiNo™ architecture, the DMN-8600 is a highly integrated DVD recorder system processor with a second-generation DV codec. Additional advantages of the DMN-8600 include the LSI Logic DoMiNoFX™ proprietary pre- and post-processing technologies, TrueView™ Pro and TrueScan™ Pro. These motion compensation-based technologies provide advanced progressive scan output and impressive noise reduction on analog inputs.
